3 New Resizable Widgets
Exciting news! Say goodbye to the old-fashioned widget – now, there are 3 sleek, resizable options!
Add them like any other Android widgets:
1. Long-press an empty space on your Home screen.
2. Select Widgets, then Windy.app.
3. Pick one: all widgets feature the windy bar, so choose based on what else you need -- current wind, current air temperature, or multiple weather parameters.
Resize if necessary and enjoy!

Log in on Android 14 has been fixed
The log in in Windy.app on all versions of Android OS works well now! Register at the top of the side menu (if you haven’t done so already) and you’ll be able to use your PRO status, settings, and list of favorite spots on up to 5 devices at a time with your login.

Android 14 support
Windy.app is now supported on Android 14! You wouldn’t notice any difference, but just know that all the latest improvements “under the hood” are in place.
The home screen widgets should work well on all devices now! Now is a good time to give them a try. How? On the Home screen, touch and hold an empty space, then tap “Widgets” and search for Windy.app. Place the widget anywhere you like, and choose one of your favorite spots to be displayed on the widget. Ready to go!

Swell forecast for favorites
See a 7-day swell energy forecast for your favorite spots on the main page! To switch between wind and swell forecasts just open Settings -> Main screen. Note: If there’s no swell data available for a spot, the wind forecast remains.

Wind alerts have been fixed
Some devices have been experiencing issues with wind alerts. We are sorry that this happened. After a deep dive, the issue was found and fixed. It should be good now!
FYI, wind alerts help you stay informed of good conditions or dangerous ones. It’s a push notification that comes as soon as a wind forecast meets your criteria. Available in the PRO version.
UI and UX improved
This just means that the app looks nicer and is easier to use :)

Ocean Currents on the Map
Check out a new parameter on the map— the ocean current forecast! This forecast is available globally for seas and oceans, 10 days out, and with a 9.25 km resolution. It's a great visual aid to help you optimize your sailing routes, plan your fishing trips, and navigate your time on the water in general.

Map bug fixed and more
Now the map zooms to the spot you were searching for as it should. We know it was annoying, our apologies.
Also, the phone widget is fixed -- for a little while, you couldn’t add it to your screen. Try it now - it's great for keeping an eye on the wind forecast for your favorite spots.

AROME added to the map!
Get wind and gust forecasts from AROME--a weather forecasting model for Western Europe with exceptionally high detail: 1.25 km.
It’s good at forecasting severe storms and local winds. The length of the forecast is up to 42 hours.

Welcome the Deviation index, an improved version of the Trust index. It shows the spread between wind forecasts from all weather models available on the spot. If it's narrow, you can trust the wind forecast. If it's large, use it with caution. The deviation can be found on the SAIL and custom profile.
We also have bad news: this is the last update of Windy.app for Android versions older than 4.4. because Google doesn't support Google Play Services on older versions.

Big Release for the US
Nautical Charts: new reality
Dreams come true: established nautical NOAA charts and the most accurate weather forecast at the same app. Switch it on right on the map or in the map settings. It updates automatically along with NOAA updates. All you need is zoom in: you can see coming depressions, waves data or navigational details based on scale.

Archive 2020

US forecast on map
The most accurate forecasts for the continental US, HRRR and NAM are on the map now. Both are developed by the US NOAA institute. NAM is for 61 hours ahead, HRRR is for 18h, but might be more accurate.

Trust index & Expert Profile
Now it's easier to understand whether to trust a forecast or not.
This index is calculated based on the ECMWF Ensemble (EC-ENS) and you can find it in our new EXPERT profile. By the way, here you can check our new Ensemble graphs for temperature and pressure.

Waves forecast for 10 days
Supercool news!
The waves forecast's depth is 10 days now, it updates daily around 15:00UTC in our app.
It has a great grid resolution of 1/12 degree (roughly 8km).
ECMWF Ensemble (EC-ENS)
Pretty fresh feature for professionals!
Now you can evaluate the reliability of the ECMWF. MIN and MAX show the likely range of the forecast change over time. Based on the ECMWF Ensemble.

Now you can share the forecast from the map and photos from our community (and the spot where they were taken).
We also improved the picture with the forecast for a specific spot, which can be sent to friends in messengers or posted in stories in social networks, and we also added pictures with weather from weather stations (yes, they can also be shared).

Accurate currents
Great news on currents! We've added an 8km global MyOcean model. Currents are more accurate now and take tides into account. Sea temperature is now a 0.5 meter depth average.
Offline mode
No Internet is no big deal: check our offline mode. Choose the necessary region, download the forecast and be aware of the weather on your favorite spots even offline.
